Devoted to her family
WATERBURY – It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that the family of Suzanne Heston Emanuel announce her unexpected passing on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Born on December 29, 1955 in Waterbury, Suzanne was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dunne) Heston and wife of Donald D. Emanuel. A nearly lifelong resident of Waterbury, Suzanne graduated from Southbury High School while the family lived in Middlebury and later returned to her hometown to raise her own family. Early in her career, she was a computer programmer at the onset of the digital revolution, and she would parlay those skills while she furthered her career and education in the insurance industry. Ultimately, Suzanne retired from The Hartford Insurance Company, where she supervised the actuarial and underwriting departments in the long-term care division. Suzanne was a lifelong avid reader, lover of classic movies and documentaries, and a devout Catholic. A quick wit, honest advice, and a ”get it done” attitude were her hallmarks: she devoted her life to hard work, always striving to succeed in providing her children and extended family with a better life and a trusted ally.
Suzanne raised two children, Bridget Heston Carnemolla and Donald J. Emanuel, who were her pride and joy. Predeceased by her siblings Frank, Joseph, Jean (Douty), Ronald, George, and Donald Heston, Suzanne’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her daughter Bridget and son-in-law, David (Carnemolla), son Donald and fiancee, Justine (Luciano), sisters Dolores Burnop and Shirley Lacy, beloved granddaughters Faye, Leah, and Scarlett, and too many sister/brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins to count, all of whom she loved dearly.
