THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF SYLVESTER FOX
WATERBURY -Sylvester Fox Jr., 71, of Painesville, OH passed away unexpectedly in his Waterbury home on Monday, January 18, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Ferrell) Fox.
Sylvester (Sly or Junior) was born July 10, 1949 to Sylvester and Rosie (Taylor) Fox in Charleston, Mississippi. He graduated from Thomas W. Harvey High School in Painesville, Ohio and spent twenty-five years working as a Sheet Metal Worker at The Siemon Company in Watertown, CT. He was an avid member of the Cadillac Lasalle Club and an enthusiastic baseball and football fan. Sylvester enjoyed his beer, peanuts, and spending time with his family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Left to honor Sylvester's love and legacy besides his wife, Doris, are his daughter, Regina (John) Smith and granddaughter, Jazmine, of Cleveland, Ohio. He leaves his siblings: Mary (Elijah) Brown of Ledson, SC; Alma Jean Owens of Dowingtown, PA; Gwendolyn (Nuumo Taaliib) El Amin of Youngsville, NC; Melvin (Cherie) Fox of Grand Rapids, MI; Beverly (James) Smith of Oxford, PA; and Kenneth (Estella) Fox of Columbus, OH and a host of cousins, (great) nieces, (great) nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his memory. He is predeceased by his son, Brian, his brother, Gilbert Fox, and his parents, Sylvester and Rosie Fox.
Funeral services for Mr Fox will be held on Saturday February 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may attend walk-through visitation only on Saturday from 12:00 pm till the service commences at 2:00 p.m. All applicable regulations regarding COVID #19 will be strictly enforced.
