Tatjana Seliokas

July 21, 1918 — December 7, 2013

BETHLEHEM CT - Tatjana Seliokas age 95, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Waterbury Hospital after an extended illness. She was the widow of Kazys Seliokas who passed away on May 17, 1970.
Tatjana was born July 21, 1918 in Smolensk Russia, the daughter of the late Petras and Berta (Vinkler) Losys. She and her family fled Russia at an early age to Lithuania where she was raised and schooled. She emigrated to the United States in 1949 and was primarily a homemaker but also worked for a time at Hemingway Bartlett in Watertown as a machinist. Tatjana was selected as Miss Lithuania in 1937 and she was fluent in 5 languages. She was a strong willed, outspoken but compassionate woman who was fiercely protective of her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother she was proud of her family and possessed a heart of gold. She was a member of St Mary's Russian Orthodox Church in Waterbury.

Among her survivors are her son, Zenonas "Zen" Seliokas and his wife Camilla of Bethlehem and her daughter Grazina "Grace" Platt and her husband Wayne also of Bethlehem, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Seliokas will held on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 11:00am at the Eastside Memorial "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT. Burial will follow in Lithuanian Cemetery, Plank Rd. Waterbury.
