THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF TERESA DISTASI
OAKVILLE -Teresa DiStasi, age 80, of Oakville, entered into the gates of heaven on Wednesday, August 15, at her home surrounded by her loving family, to join her husband Giuseppe "Joseph" DiStasi.
Teresa was born in Cercemaggiore, Campobasso, Italy on February 5, 1938, the daughter of the late Gabriel and Anna Maria (Zappone) Rosa. With her working hands she could create artistry in fabric, food and anything life brought her. She was a talented seamstress throughout her life. Her flower garden was something to admire. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, family, friends and all the beauty around her. She was a longtime member of the Cercemaggiore Women's Auxiliary Club and a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church. Teresa showed endless love for her family and friends and nothing brought her greater joy but to spend time together. She would always fill the room with her joyful spirit and a zest for life. Her declining health only enforced her continuous strength. She never lost sight of her faith which she lived her life by. Teresa was very generous, willing to help anyone in need with her caring heart.
Among her survivors are her children: Grace Sinopoli of Watertown and Daniel DiStasi of Washington CT as well as 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother and 3 sisters, several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. DiStasi will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St Oakville at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Teresa's family from 9:00am at the church until the time of the service at 11:00am O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville, CT has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements.
