AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME ?" Theresa Desjardins, age 75 of Buckingham St Watertown died Friday, October 1o, 2008 at Waterbury Hospital.
Theresa was born in Waterbury on June 10, 1933, the daughter of the late Francis and Rose (Theriault) Desjardins. She was raised in Oakville and graduated from St. Johns School and Waterbury Catholic High School. She was employed for many years by the Waterbury VNA as a home health aide caring for many sick and elderly families in the greater Waterbury area. Theresa was an exceptional cook and so many friends, neighbors and family enjoyed her delicious dishes. She enjoyed playing cards and loved animals of all types, especially birds. Theresa will always be remembered as the most loving and caring mother a child can have. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loreto Church.
Mrs Desjardins is survived by 6 children; Gerard Sulli and his wife Cathleen of Ridgefield CT, David Sulli and his wife Evelyn of San Diego CA, Andre Sulli and his wife Laura of Pleasantville NY, Michael Desjardins and his wife Angela of Watertown CT, Marie Risk and her husband John of Watertown and Catherine Lombardi and her husband David also of Watertown. She also leaves two brothers, Edmund Desjardins of Waterbury and Albert Desjardins of Florida, three sisters, Annette Rosato and Sr.Martine Desjardins CND both of Waterbury and Cecile Mirto of Wolcott and 9 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Desjardins will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 11:00am from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville to Our Lady of Loreto Church, Waterbury for Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 until the procession leaves for church.
