Devoted to her family and faith
WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Theresa (Santoro) Foti age 93, announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Glendale Health Care Center in Naugatuck. She was the widow of Joseph Foti and Anthony Angurio.
Theresa was born on June 13, 1931 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Albert and Virginia (Basil) Santoro. A lifelong Waterbury resident, Theresa was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grammer and High School and also studied at Leon’s Cosmetology and Hair Dressing School. She began her working career at Worths Dept store for 14 wonderful years while she also worked as a hairdresser. She then was a Unit Clerk at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 13 years. All the while she raised 3 beautiful children, after her first husband, Joseph Foti passed away at the age of 38. For Theresa it was all about family and faith. She was a longtime parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Church. Theresa was exceptional in almost every way but she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. But her greatest joy came on those occasions when she could babysit her grandchildren and host holidays and events with her family. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; daughter, Cammie Zarrella and her husband Steve of Watertown, her sons. Paul Foti of Middlebury and Joseph Foti and his wife Shalin of Watertown, her grandchildren; Nicole Jupin and her husband George, Christopher Foti and his wife Kate, Brooke Gemmell and her husband Josh, Russel and Sage Foti, great grandchildren; Olivia and Madelyn Jupin and Elizabeth, Penelope Foti and Thomas Gemmell. She also leaves several nieces and nephews but was especially close to Linda and Jim Garvey and Rose Anne Mitchell and her husband Frank. We could never forget to mention her special four-legged companions, Zach, Maddie, Barnaby and Taffy. Theresa was predeceased by her siblings; Carmen and his wife, Irene Santoro, Antoinette and her husband, Louis Nigro, Paul and his wife, Rose Santoro and Julius and his wife, Maria Santoro
