WATERBURY - Thomas G. Hunt Sr, age 84 of Bethany, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of his family after an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Capra) Hunt.
Thomas was born January 29, 1939, in Bridgeport, CT, the son of the late Clarence and Bernadette (Aldrich) Hunt. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a well-known Master Trainer & founding partner of Eagle K-9 Academy in Bethany, where he specialized in canine obedience & dog behavior modification. Thomas's hobbies included being a Ham radio operator and he was an active volunteer with the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department and Fire Police. He also enjoyed practicing the art of magic and was an active volunteer with the Seymour Valley Detachment of the Marine Corps League. Tom will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his wife of 62 years, Carol, he leaves his children; Thomas Hunt Jr. and his wife, Colinda of Naugatuck, Tammi King of Waterbury, and Tecia-Lue Hunt of Bethany. He also leaves his 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was predeceased by his siblings, brothers, Kenneth and Howard Hunt and sister, Ruth Amos.
Funeral services for Mr. Hunt will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd., Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Hunt family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
