HAMDEN - Thomas Robert Mack, age 83 of Hamden, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 26, 2016. He was the husband of the late Dolores Mas Mack, his beloved wife of 44 years.
Thomas was born September 22, 1932 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Boszko) Mack. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Leavenworth High School. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Texas. Tom was the owner and operator of Century Auto Body, originally located in Wolcott and later in Waterbury. He had a gifted talent for restoring old cars and one of them is featured on display in a museum in Long Island, New York. He had also received countless awards for the cars that he restored and he enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved fishing.
Thomas is survived by his two step-daughters, Carolyn Cavalieri and her companion, Ron DePaolo of Killingworth, and Dolores Paddock and her husband,. Glenn of Cheshire. He also leaves his brother Joseph Mack and his wife, Jane of Farmington, his sister, Maryann Johnson of Wolcott, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren in addition to several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Mack will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:00am from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St.@ Southmayd Rd , Waterbury to Saints Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and relatives may visit with Tom's family on Thursday morning from 9:00am ~ 10:00 am at the funeral home.
