AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME: - Thomas J. O'Donnell, age 40 of 165 Lake Shore Drive Middlebury, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Elizabeth (DaSilva) O'Donnell.
Thomas was born October 21, 1967 in Waterbury, a son of John and Mary Jane (Steadman) O'Donnell and lived in Middlebury for the past 5 years. Tom attended Southern Connecticut State University and had worked for the City of Waterbury as a substitute teacher as well as in the Board of Education School Maintenance Department. Throughout his career, he was affiliated with several restaurants in the Waterbury area. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox , San Francisco 49ers and UConn.
Besides his wife of Middlebury and his parents of Waterbury, he leaves a brother Kevin O'Donnell of Waterbury, four sisters, Katie Crafa and her husband John of Boca Raton, FL., Karen Ahmed and her husband Abdul of Waterbury, Sandra Cilfone-Rizk and her husband Jim of Watertown, Patricia Leavey and her husband Pat of Bethpage, NY. He also leaves his mother and father in law, Alberto and Maria Candida DaSilva of Portugal and several brothers and sisters in law: Elza and Carlos Vieira of Naugatuck, Lucia DaSilva of Portugal, Aida and David Miller of Wolcott, Gorete and Norberto Dias of Portugal, Vitor DaSiva of Portugal, Aires and Miguelina DaSilva of Naugatuck, Licinio and Edite DaSilva of Prospect and Celia DaSilva of Waterbury, as well as several Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. O'Donnell will be held on Wednesday September 24th at 9:30 a.m. from the Casey-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 1581 East Main Street, Waterbury to Saint Leo the Great Church, Bentwood Dr. Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4-7pm.
