WATERBURY - Thomas D. Smith of Bristol, formerly of Waterbury passed away peacefully with his devoted son by his side at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St Marys Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Linda D. Carrier Smith
Mr. Smith was born in Waterbury on November 24, 1944 the son of the late Edward F. Smith Sr and Ernestine Blondeau Smith. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Croft High School. He worked for many years as a Quality Control Inspector and manager in the aerospace, medical and automotive industries. He was an accomplished musician and vocalist playing guitar in many area bands. Tom loved to travel and enjoyed days at the beach. He was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul parish. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Mr. Smith leaves his son, Dennis Gelinas and his wife Suzanne and their son Gary of Prospect, his sisters; Patricia Neuman, Susan Smith and Elaine Richardson all of Waterbury and his companion, Arlene Savago of Groton as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters; Nancy Bouchard and Ernestine Smith.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Garden of Angels Mausoleum.
