OAKVILLE - Timothy Welsh, age 58 of Oakville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 9, 2020 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Tim was born on September 4, 1961 in Waterbury the son of the late William J. and Agnes (Matthieu) Welsh. He was educated in local schools, graduated from Watertown High School, Class of 1979. Tim was well known in the greater Watertown area and worked early in his life as the owner and proprietor of Bill's Friendly Tavern in Oakville (now Ordinary Joe's) and then as a carpenter. At the neighborhood tavern Tim had a varied clientele and enjoyed serving and spending time with his patrons. He was a member of the Watertown American Legion, enjoyed playing bocci but what was most important in Tim's life was his family, especially his grandchildren who were the light in his life. Tim had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his memory and cherish his love and legacy are his children; John Welsh and his wife Rebecca, Chris Stack and his wife Ame'lie, Patrick Fortier and Sarah Welsh. He also leaves his lifelong companion and former wife, Irene (Stack) Welsh, his brother, Alan Welsh and his sister, Cathy Welsh. He was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Charlotte Welsh, Lilyan and Evelyn Dwan and one nephew, Allan Welsh Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Welsh will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 16 Buckingham St Oakville at 9:00 a.m. All state and archdiocesan guideline for Covid-19 will be strictly enforced. . Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St Oakville has been honored to assist the Welsh family during these difficult times.
