Loving Mother and Proud Nana T
BRISTOL - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Tracy Rochelle Cooper, age 58, of Bristol, share the news of her unexpected passing on March 4, 2025.
Tracy was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on October 18th, 1966, the daughter of Angenette Cooper and the late Stephen (Tony) Smith. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Springfield College. She worked for many years as a behavioral specialist and for the City of Waterbury, Department of Education. Tracy lived life on her own terms, finding joy in the quiet moments and the music that filled her soul with her most unique playlist. Tracy was never one for grand adventures, preferring the comfort of her own place. She was a person who didn’t change for anyone, holding firm to her individuality and what she believed in. She loved nothing more than spending time with her most treasured gifts, her sons and her grandchildren. She was proudly known as Nana T and made sure everyone knew that. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish and honor her memories are her sons; Bryan Cooper and his wife Jaiwona Hardy of Waterbury, Joel Roscoe and his wife Alicia of Bristol, Daniel Jones of Naugatuck, her 4 grandchildren; Bryan Jr., Trae, Cason, and Caliana, her siblings; Kwame, Sarita “Toni” and Linda. She is also predeceased by her mother that she loved dearly, Bertha Flakes. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other extended family members and friends.
