Ms. Ursulina Marisol "Miss Mary" Iglesias

 Devoted Mother and Grandmother  

WATERBURY – Mrs. Ursulina “Marisol” “Miss Mary” Iglesias age 78 of Waterbury, passed peacefully with her children by her side on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Hartford Hospital.  

Marisol was born in Spain on January 27, 1946 the daughter of the late Jose Luis and Luisa (Martinez) Iglesias. Marisol was a longtime resident of Waterbury and worked as a teacher’s aide and volunteer in the City of Waterbury at the Maloney Magnet School where she was affectionately known as Miss Mary. She loved gardening, crocheting and knitting but most of all what was most important to Marisol was her family. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us. 

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; her sons; Antonio Garcia Jr and his wife, Nina of Fayetteville NC, Esteban Garcia of Kissimmee FL and Benjamin Garcia of Waterbury, her daughters; Priscilla Garcia of Hartford, and Elisa Garcia and her husband Julio Hernandez of Kissimmee FL. Marisol raised three of her grandchildren as her own; Natasha Rosado, Esteban Garcia Jr and ShandaLisa Garcia. She also leaves 16 other grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Rosemary Garcia.  

Funeral services for Mrs. Iglesias will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the Iglesias’ family Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence and share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone who was important to you.
