BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER AND GRANDFATHER

WATERBURY - Victor A. Colon, Sr. 80, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Saint Mary's Hospital on Friday, March 13, 2020. He was the husband of the late Betty Colon.

Victor was born August 26, 1939 in Puerto Rico, the son of the late Justo and Victoria (Sanchez) Colon. He enjoyed gardening and watching baseball games. Victor was a hardworking, dedicated father and husband, who provided well for his family. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of day to day life, he filled their home with the sounds of his hearty laughter. One of Victor's strongest qualities was his courage. He had the courage to take on anything. He was known for providing the tough love that we all need from time to time. Family was the most important thing to him, especially his grandchildren, who he adored. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to cherish his memory and honor Victors' love and legacy are his son, Victor Colon Jr (Jennifer) and his daughter, Tracie Hernandez (Carlos), with whom he shared his home. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Justo Colon and Edwardo Colon, his three sisters, Julia Gonzalez, Carmen Colon and Aida Colon, his three sisters in laws: Jacki Snyder, Diane Barnard, & Jane Negron Of Parrish, FL his brother in law Stephen Snyder Of Copperas Cove, Texas his nephew, Victor Rosario who he thought of as his own son, as well as many nieces and nephews. Victor was blessed with seven grandchildren, Aydan Colon, CJ Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez, Oliver Colon, Finley Colon, Natasha Hernandez and Mariah Hernandez.

Funeral services for Mr. Colon will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Todos Los Santos Parish, The Shrine of St Anne's Church. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Victor's family on Sunday March 15, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. To honor Victor's memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
