WATERBURY - Victor M. Rodriguez, age 80 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday April 6, 2018 at the Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Crucita (Viruet) Rodriguez
Victor was born February 25, 1938 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Jose and Luz M. (Negron) Rodriguez. Victor spent many years working as a machinist for ITW Highland Manufacturing until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed watching baseball and boxing and was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan. Victor was also a devout catholic and was a long time, active parishioner of Sacred Heart "Sagrado Corazon" Church, where he was a part of the Cursillistas and miembro del grupo "El Cristo de los Milagros". What brought the greatest joy to Victor was spending time with his familym especially his grandchildren and great granddaughter. Victor will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Besides his loving wife, Crucita of 59 years of marriage, Victor is survived by his daughters; Sandra E. Rodriguez and Luz Rodriguez, both of Waterbury. He also leaves his siblings, Carmin Pontoja, Aida Santiago, Angel Luis Rodriguez, Nilda Quinones, Nancy Santiago, Gladys Quinones, Luis Quinones and his grandchildren, Lecticia Calderon, Sharina Calderon, and Nykesha Olen and his great granddaughter, Gabriella Zurita as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Jose Anotnio Rodriguez
Funeral Services for Mr. Rodriguez will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at "Todos los Santos", All Saints/St Anne's Church, South Main St. Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, Relatives and friends may visit with Victor's family on Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd.
