THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF VICTORIA NOVAK


SOUTHBURY - Victoria (Simutis) Novak, age 93 formerly of Waterbury and Middlebury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019 with her family by her side at the Lutheran Home in Southbury. She was the widow of Anthony Novak.

Victoria was born in on July 3, 1925 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Pauline (Dalton) (Simutis) Rakoza and Domenick Simutis. She was a graduate of St. Josephs Grammar School, Waterbury Catholic High School and the New York Institute of Photography. She worked for the Gus Parisi Photography Studio and was well known for being the "Baby & Child" Photographer at Howland Hughes for many years. In her later years, she worked at Wheeler Wire and Waterbury Extended Care. Victoria was very active in the Girl Scouts of America and also the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to cook and bake, cake decorating, ceramics, sewing and knitting. Victoria favorite activity however was babysitting her grandchildren and going on family trips, especially Rhode Island and Martha's Vineyard. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Victoria leaves her children, her daughter, Polly Strell and her husband, Edward of Prospect, her sons, John Novak and his wife, Robin and Michael Novak and his wife, Kathleen all of Woodbury, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She also leaves a stepbrother, Stanley Telinski and his wife, Joan of Lakeland Florida and a niece, Elaine Teklinski Colangelo. She was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph Novak

Funeral Services for Mrs. Novak will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at 9:30 am from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to St Bridget of Sweden Church, 175 Main St Cheshire CT to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Lithuanian Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Victoria's family on Tuesday morning from 8:00 till 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, to honor Victoria's memory donations to the Lutheran Home 990 Main St North, Southbury CT 06488, would be appreciated.
