WATERTOWN- Vinal Michaud, age 81 of Watertown, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Mary Jane Michaud.
Vinal was born on October 17, 1939 in Fort Fairfield Maine the son of the late
Omar and Rose (Picard) Michaud. He was educated in local schools, graduated from Kaynor Technical High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for 47 years as a machinist for United Technologies and was an avid NY Yankees and UConn basketball fan. Vinal loved to travel but most of all he was devoted to his family especially his grandchildren who could count on him to be their favorite cheerleader at every sporting event. He was a parishioner of St Mary Magdalen Church and he will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, besides his wife of 66 years are his daughters; Linda (Frank) Conroy and Tracey Janusonis. He and Mary Jane were blessed with three grandchildren; Andrew, Michael and Ashley. Vinal was the last surviving member of the Michaud family and had 11 siblings predecease him.
Funeral services for Mr. Michaud will be private and held at the convenience of his family. To honor Vinal's memory and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association, P.O.
