WATERBURY - Mr. Vincent Joseph Chapman, age 96, of Waterbury passed away peacefully at Saint Mary's hospital on Sunday November 15, 2015 after an extended illness. He was the widower of Agnes (Durkin) Chapman.
Mr. Chapman was born August 24th, 1919, in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Patrick and Margaret (Hansberry) Chapman. He proudly served with the US Army during WWII and spent many years working at Borden Dairy until his retirement. Vincent was always happiest whole spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Among his survivors are his children Vincent P. Chapman, Mark Chapman, Agnes Chapman Maryann Chapman, and Kathleen Chapman, all of Waterbury as well as his nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He is predeceased by his son William T. Chapman
Funeral services for Mr. Chapman will be held on Friday, November 20th, 2015 at 9:00am at Saints Peter and Paul Church Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will take place at 1:00pm at Calverton National Cemetery 210 Princeton Blvd Calverton, L.I.N.Y. Relatives and Friends of Mr. Chapman may visit with his family on Thursday, November 19th from 5:00 ~ 7:00pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury.
