Enjoyed returning to Maine for family reunions
WATERBURY - Viola E. Pugliese, age 95 of Waterbury passed away peacefully at the Cheshire House after an extended illness. She was the widow of Frank P. Pugliese.
Viola was born on July 8, 1924 in Millinocket, ME. She worked for many years at Lakewood Metals in Waterbury. Viola enjoyed bingo, cards, puzzles and trips to the casino and she was an avid NY Yankees fan. Most of all she always looked forward to her trips back to Maine for family reunions. Viola will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memories and honor her rich legacy are her son; Rocco Pugliese and his significant other, Denise Rickevicius; her daughter, Carol Stango-Grazio and her husband Louis as well as her 3 grandchildren, David Marinelli, Heather Marinelli and Melissa Stango; her 2 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Katherine Camilleri and her great-great granddaughter, Sophia Camilleri. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. Viola was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Marinelli and her 9 siblings.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pugliese will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT 06705 to Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Viola's family on Friday morning from 8:30 am till 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
