NAUGATUCK CT Virginia "Dee" (Knight) Veillette of Hackett St. Naugatuck passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 31, 2013. She was the widow of Fred Veillette.
Dee was born August 14, 1922 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Rogers) Knight. Dee was born and raised in Waterbury and was a graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury, Class of 1940. A longtime resident of Naugatuck, Dee worked at Uniroyal in Naugatuck for over 38 years. She enjoyed her later years surrounded by her many friends and dedicated nieces and nephews. She loved to play cards, reading, word games and shopping. She was a member of many senior organizations including the South End Seniors, Washington Park Seniors and the St. Francis Xavier retirees. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Waterbury. Virginia's family would like to thank Dees neighbor, Tom Bryk for his care and attention he provided to Dee over the years.
Dee is survived by her sister, Mrs. Margaret Troland of Cheshire, her brother, Louis Knight of Oakville and her loving nieces and nephews, Cynthia Reagan, James Troland, Pamela Sheehy, Barbara Arisco, Robert Knight, Debbie Batista Kathy Wheeler and Christopher Knight as well as many grand nieces and nephews. Dee was predeceased by her brother, Harris Knight.
Funeral services for Mrs. Veillette will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St Waterbury at 9:30am. Those planning to attend should go directly to the church. Rites of committal will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. There are no calling hours.
