Vito S. "Bill" Pestone

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF VITO S. "BILL" PESTONE

WATERBURY - Vito S. "Bill" Pestone, age 100 of Waterbury passed away at his home, the Village of East Farms on Friday, December 18, 2020. He was the devoted husband of 71 years of the late Dora (Sanchi) Pestone.

Vito was born November 24, 1920 in Waterbury the son of the lat Rocco and Rose (Accousti) Pestone. He was educated in local schools and was a decorated World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, Air Corp stationed in England with the 8th Air Force Heavy Bomber Division. Vito flew 30 combat missions in both the B-24 and B-17 bombers and was awarded the Air Medal and Four Oak Clusters and the distinguished Unit Citation. Following his completion of military service, he returned home and continued his education at the University of CT and earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Administration. After spending 10 years employed at a subsidiary of Sperry Rand Corporation he embarked on a new career as the proprietor of the Bailey Employment Service of Waterbury from which he retired. Bill was a member and long time secretary of the Exchange Club of Waterbury and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Sheriden Council. He enjoyed golf and bowling but was always happiest when surrounded by his devoted family. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to cherish and honor his memory and legacy are his three sons; William and his wife Mary Lee of Cohasset MA and Naples FL, Philip and his wife, Robin of Sterling VA and Kenneth and his wife, Ellen of Fairfield CT, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the restrictions regarding the COVID # 19 pandemic, funeral services for Mr. Pestone will be private. Bill will be laid to rest with full military honors, next to his loving wife in Old St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been honored to assist the Pestone family during this difficult time.
