Waterbury- Walter Thomas Miller, age 88, of Meriden Rd. Waterbury passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Carroll) Miller.

Walter was born on February 14, 1925 in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Walter P. and Anna (Bungardner) Miller. A lifelong Waterbury resident Walter was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Grammar School and Crosby High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II and the Korean War. Walter was a tool and die maker and worked for various local companies before retiring. He was an avid and award winning photographer and a member of the New England Camera Club. Walter loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a longtime parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church

Besides his wife of 65 years, Walter is survived by his son, Steven and his wife Janice Miller of Goshen, his daughters, Diane Giuditta and her husband Joel of Middlebury and his daughter Barbara Albert and her husband Robert of Terryville. He also leaves his 6 adoring grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Miller.

Funeral services with full Military Honors for Mr. Miller will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2012 at 9:30am from EASTSIDE MEMORIAL, " A Casey Family funeral Home and Tribute Center, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Rites of Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm.
