WATERBURY – Mr. Walter Ervin Riddick, age 62, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Tonya Lisa (Jackson) Riddick.
Walter was born in Gates, North Carolina on December 1, 1961, the son of Barbara Riddick and the late William Earl Riddick. Walter graduated from Wilby High School and Porter and Chester Institute. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney / Raytheon Technologies Corporation for 40 years. The highlights of Walter’s life were enjoying fishing, camping, and traveling. He also loved visiting his family members both near and far. Walter was recently inducted into the Ultimate Hall of Fame for playing frisbee (MOB – Masters of the Bee). Walter loved and cherished the relationship he had with his cousin, Linda Riddick Barron who he called his “Sis”. Most of all, he had a special bond with his friend, Norman Andrews Jr. who he referred to as his brother.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Tonya Lisa, his mother, Barbara Riddick of Waterbury, two children; Tonya Monique Riddick of Hampton, VA, and Calvin Phillip Riddick (Becky) of Waterbury. He also leaves two grandsons, Makyle Peterson of Hampton, VA, and Beckett Riddick of Waterbury, and host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, cousins, and extended family. Walter was predeceased by his father, William Earl Riddick, and his brother, William Darnell Riddick.
Funeral services for Mr. Riddick will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 65 Kingsbury St, Waterbury, CT 06702. Relatives and friends may visit with the Riddick family at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
