AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Waterbury ?" Walter Wrzosek, age 87 of 119 Store Ave Waterbury, died unexpectedly on Saturday evening at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marie (Donnelly) Wrzosek.
Walter was born in New Haven CT on December 31, 1921, the son of the late Anthony and Philomena (Jablonska) Wrzosek and was raised in New Haven and moved to Waterbury with his family in 1958. He was a longtime employee of Timex, where he began working as a draftsman for gyroscope tooling and progressed to tool design for watches and culminated his career as the buyer for production tooling. Walter was an active member of the Legion of Mary for nearly 40 years and was also a member of AARP. Walter enjoyed ten pin bowling and travel during summer vacations. When everyone was heading south to Myrtle Beach or Florida, Walter and his wife were going north to Maine or Canada.
Walter was predeceased by his three brothers, Anthony, John and Alexander Wrzosek and is survived by many nieces and nephews, grand and great grand, nieces and nephews as well as his many friends and neighbors on Store Ave.
Funeral services for Mr. Wrzosek will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 10:00 am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury CT to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours for Mr. Wrzosek have been scheduled for Friday evening October 16, 2009 from 5:00 till 8:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Mr. Wrzosek memory may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
