WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness that the family of Wayne F. Woznikaitis, age 80, share news of his peaceful passing on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Saint Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was husband of Patricia (Burgio) Woznikaitis his devoted soulmate of 34 beautiful years. 

Wayne was born on September 24, 1944, in Caribou, Maine, the son of the late Frank A. and Helen (Longley) Woznikaitis. He grew up in Naugatuck, Connecticut and attended Kaynor Technical High School and graduated in 1962. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Hissen out of Newport RI and he was awarded the Antarctica Service medal for his meritorious service. . He brought immeasurable joy and light to the lives of his devoted family with his loving heart, radiant smile, and endless knowledge. He was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. A gentle soul with a world of endless knowledge, there was nothing our Pop couldn’t do and wouldn’t do for anyone who asked. From fixing cars, playing golf, chess, poker nights, and Sunday dinners with the family, Wayne could be found building something or working in the yard. May his beautiful memory be a blessing to all.

Besides his loving wife, Patrica; left to honor and cherish his memories, are his children; John Woznikaitis of Waterbury, William Roberts and his wife, Nicole, of Middlefield, his stepchildren; Lori Chance and her significant other, Emily of Wolcott, Lynn Chance and her husband, John of Middlebury and Richard Chance and his wife, Allison of Wolcott. Wayne also leaves his sister Julie Berabi of Prospect. He and Patricia were blessed with loving grandchildren; Anthony, Mya, Tyler, Caden, Toby, Kyle and Jack, and many other extending friends and family members. 

Funeral services for Mr Woznikaitis will be held privately at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence or words of comfort or share a memory of someone important to you with your family and friends.
