Wilbert Franklin Clinton, Jr., 60 of 43 Murray St, Waterbury, CT, transitioned to Glory at his home on Monday, July 17, 2023, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Jacqueline Porter-Clinton.

Wilbert, affectionately known as Nooney, was born on May 15, 1963, in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late
Wilbert F. Clinton, Sr and the late Ethel Curry Clinton Blair. Nooney was a graduate of Wilby High School (diploma) and Porter & Chester Institute (Certificate in Designer Drafting), Waterbury, CT. He honorable served our country as a member of the United States Navy during the Persian Gulf War from January 14, 1986 – January 29,1991. While stationed in California he attended San Diego State University and received a Culinary Arts / Bus. Degree. Nooney’s talent and enthusiasm for food preparation was birth in the military. He has worked as a chef in a variety of establishments. He was most fulfilled when working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and it was his desire to return. Nooney was the proprietor of “Shamar’s Catering” and was sought after to cater events from private parties to large weddings. He received pleasure from watching people enjoy his creations. Nooney was disciplined as an avid martial arts expert earning his black belt and winning multiple competitions. This training transitioned into him becoming protector for those he loved and those he encountered in his life’s journey. Nooney was a member of the House of Judah Ministries in Baton Rouge, LA serving on the Hospitality, Homeless Outreach and Prison Ministries.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his stepfather Gene Blair; ten children: Shamar Clinton; Damar (Tocarra) Clinton; Daniel Clinton; Emoni (Dwayne) Miles; Eloni Clinton all of Waterbury, CT; Eric (Essence) Clinton of Middletown, CT; Christopher Jackson of Pensacola, FL; Denae (Deangelo) Webb of
El Paso, TX; Daniellle Clinton of Jackson MS and stepson Marcus Porter of Baton Rouge, LA; three sisters Ladora Sanders and Danette Broome-Keel of Charlotte, NC; Ramona (Michael) Barnes of Waterbury, CT; two stepsisters Nikitta (Brian) Wright of Meriden, CT; Janelle Parrish of Florida; and Godson Dwayne Clements, Jr; Nooney is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 1 great grand, and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was predeceased by two granddaughters: Storm Clinton and Logan Clinton and a stepbrother Darrell Rogers.
