WILBUR HEIGHT
WATERBURY- Wilbur Height, 62 of 455 West Main Street died Wednesday at his home.
Wilbur was born June 24, 1945 in Philipsburg, NJ, a son of Sadie Clara (DeVries) (Height) Major and the late Frederick Height. He was educated in New Jersey and Waterbury Schools. He was employed in the maintenance department at Waterbury Amusement and had formerly worked for the State of CT. He was a member of Saint John's Episcopal Church. Wilbur was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and pool player. In his youth he was a boxing champion at the Y.M.C.A.
Besides his mother of Wolcott, he leaves a brother Earl Corey Major and his wife Jennifer of Wolcott, a sister Georgianna Nadeau of Sterling, nieces Georgia Raye, Wendy Strong, Donnajean Milette, Tinamarie Wallace, Terrilee Nadeau, a nephew George Knapp and nine great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Ann Rose.
Funeral services Friday Sept 7 at 10 a.m. at Saint John's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in the Church Garden. There are no calling hours. The O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street Oakville has been entrusted with arrangements.
