AT THE CASEY- O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - Wilfredo "Fredo" Planas - age 64, of Savings Street Waterbury, died Wednesday May 25th at Saint Mary's Hospital after an extended illness. He was the widower of Rosalina (Rodriguez) Planas.
Mr. Planas was born February 9, 1947 in Penuelas Puerto Rico, the son of the late Juan and Rosa Maria (Muniz) Planas. He moved to the Waterbury area in 1970 and worked as a machine operator at Belco for many years. Fredo lived for music and enjoyed singing for several bands in the area.
Among his survivors are his step daughter, Virginia Figuero of Florida, his brothers Johnny, Edwin, and Salvaero Planas all of Waterbury, and Wilson Planas of Puerto Rico, his sisters, Maria Planas of Puerto Rico, Nereida, Luz Maria, Lydia and Consuelo Planas all of Waterbury; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Planas will be held on Tuesday May 31st at 10:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St. Waterbury to Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church, Wolcott St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home of Tuesday morning from 9:00a.m. until leaving for church.
