WATERBURY - William Joseph Ahearn, age 74 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Helen (Bartush) Ahearn.
William was born on December 16, 1942 in Waterbury, the son of the late Charles Ellis and Margaret (Byrnes) Ahearn. He attended local schools and retired as the Meat Manager after many years of service at Stop & Shop Supermarkets. William was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Besides his wife of 53 years, William leaves his three children, Lori Castro of Waterbury, Debbie Finke and her husband, Norman Jr of Waterbury and William P Ahearn and his wife, Jamey of Wolcott. He also leaves his brother, John "Jack"Ahearn of Wolcott CT and his grandchildren; Norman, Joshua, Amanda, Marly and Zack and his great grandchildren, Max and Logan
