Gone too soon, but left an indelible spirit in many
WATERBURY - William “Billy” Roy Anthony, age 31, of Waterbury, CT, passed away on March 8, 2023, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving parents.
Billy was born on March 29, 1992, at Waterbury Hospital and was the son of William and Cheryl Anthony. Billy attended Gilmartin Elementary School, West Side Middle School, and Kennedy High School, all located in Waterbury, CT. Currently, Billy attended Disabilities Resource Network in Derby, CT, with his wonderful mentor, Justin Ruggiers, who took amazing care of him, and who Billy called his “best friend”. Billy was a two-time childhood brain tumor survivor, and even though life threw him many obstacles, he overcame all of them with a smile on his face and his infamous, “who me?” and “you again?” Billy loved life and more importantly he loved people. He lived for the days when he would wake up and find out there was a party to attend, or someone was coming to visit him. Billy’s death was extremely unexpected, and he will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of being a part of his life and knowing him.
Besides his parents, left to honor his legacy is his sister, Jaclyn Sanzari (Anthony) and her husband Dominick of Newington, CT, his niece and goddaughter, Zoey Sanzari, who meant the world to him and her sister, Eliana Sanzari, whom he never got the chance to meet. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as the many wonderful mentors that worked with him.
