THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF WILLIAM HENRY CAREY III

WATERBURY- William Henry Carey III age 69 of Waterbury, passed away suddenly, December 8, 2018 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary's Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Maria (Polaco) Carey

Bill was born December 9th 1948 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late William H. and Diane (Millette) Carey Jr. Being the son of a Navy man, Bill was raised and educated in San Diego. CA before enlisting in the Navy himself. He proudly served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War era and then relocated back to Waterbury after being honorably discharged. Bill was a talented metal fabricator and worked for various manufacturing companies throughout the greater Waterbury area until his retirement. Bill's life revolved around his family, although he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing pool in his younger years as his family grew. He became more and more devoted to his children and their children. He enjoyed traveling and recently took memorable trips to Portugal and Ireland and he always looked forward to his annual family trip to the Jersey shore where he was happiest while being surrounded by the love of his family. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and were blessed to have known him.

Besides his wife Maria of 48 years, William is survived by his three daughters, Melinda Perugini and her husband, Nicholas, Jean Marie Creaven and her husband, David and Diane Calabro and her husband, Anthony all of Waterbury. In addition, he leaves his sisters, Diane Sullivan and her husband, Richard of RI; Gail DeBlasio and her husband, Richard of Palm Bay, FL and Jeanne Carey of Southington. He also leaves his adored grandchildren, Michael, Nick, Victoria, Madison, Silas, Caity, Julian and Rylee as well as his great-granddaughter Juliete as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Funeral Services for Mr. Carey will be held on Wednesday December 12th 2018 at 9:30am at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St Waterbury CT when a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in All Saint's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Bill's family on Tuesday evening, December 11th from 5:00 ~7:00 pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT 06705.
