WATERBURY - William J. Curley Jr. age 69 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Marla (Dixon) Curley.
Mr. Curley was born on October 29, 1949 in Waterbury the son of the late William Curley Sr. and Gertrude (Colligan) Curley. He was a graduate of Kaynor Technical High School and Waterbury State Technical College. Bill was extremely proud of his 50 career in the metal stamping industry. He worked as a tool and die design engineer. During this time he was granted seven United State Patents. Bill was also nationally recognized clockmaker making custom clock parts for the trade. He lectured at chapter meetings, published articles and was a four time national craftsman winner. Using his knowledge he was a volunteer at the Timexpo Museum in Waterbury. Bill was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed being an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and will be always remembered as a devoted husband and father to his family.
Besides his loving wife Marla, Bill leaves his daughters, Eileen (Curley) Schweitzer and her husband, Kevin, Christine Curley and Laura Curley-Colon and her husband, Wilfredo. He is also survived by his sisters; Liz (Curley) Tully and her husband, Mike and Anne (Curley) Hanley and her husband, Jack as well as his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Curley will be held on Saturday July 27, 2019 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT at 9:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Bill's family on Friday evening July 26, 2019 from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. At the request of Bill and his family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contribution to honor his memory may be made to the American Clock and Watch Museum, 100 Maple St. Bristol CT 06010-5092
