“Avid Syracuse Orange fan”
WATERBURY– William D. Sarajak, age 79 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the widower of Eileen (Gallagher) Sarajak.
William was born on January 26, 1944 in Waterbury, the son of the late William E. and Estelle (Koriza) Sarajak. He grew up in Syracuse, New York then moved back to Waterbury, and went on to work for Franzus & Anchor Fasteners for many years. William was known to many as “Wild Bill” or “Mr.Bill”. William was an avid sports fan of the New York Giants, Baltimore Orioles, and Syracuse Orange Basketball team. He also enjoyed horse racing and gardening. William was part of the Terryville Polish Club and he also enjoyed cigars and coin collections.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memories is his daughter, Elizabeth K. Gianfrancesco and her partner Dion, two grandchildren; Joseph Gianfrancesco IV, and Lexie Joanne Gianfrancesco. Brother, Gregory Sarajak. He also leaves his best friend and neighbor, Gloria Santiago, and friends; Adrianna Santiago, Wesley Melendez, and Isabella Melendez. He was predeceased his wife, Eileen and his brother, Gregory Sarajak.
Graveside services for Mr. Sarajak will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Saint James Cemetery, Porter Street Watertown, CT. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
