THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF WILLIS THOMPSON
OAKVILLE - Willis (Coke) C. Thompson age 84, of Oakville, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the husband of Alma (Grey) Thompson.
Coke was born August 28,1933 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Willis and Mary (Vanwagner) Thompson Sr.. On April 14, 1953, Coke joined the U.S. Army and served for three years as a helicopter mechanic before being honorably discharged in the spring of 1955. He continued his work as a mechanic, working on diesel trucks opened his own business before retiring. Coke will be remembered as a hard working man that could fix anything. He always put his family first and will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Among his survivors, he leaves behind his wife of 61 years, his son, Kevin Thompson and his wife, Linda of Prospect, his son, Randy Thompson and his partner, Gary Robinson of Naugatuck, his daughter in law, Laurie Lopes of Arizona, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Funeral services for Mr.Thompson will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street, Oakville. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Cokes' family on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
