Devoted to her family & faith
WATERBURY - Zoraida Torres, age 84 of Waterbury, passed away on November 13, 2021 at home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the wife of Alcides Torres.
Zoraida was born on September 6, 1937, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and worked at Marvel Screw Machine for 35 years as an Inspector until her retirement. What was most important to Zoraida was her family and her faith. She enjoyed family gatherings and cherished her three granddaughters. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Cecilia Church, Sacred Heart Church, and All Saints, Todos Los Santos Parish. She was a Cursillista and had a special place in her heart for the rosary. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left To cherish her memory, besides her husband Alcides of 64 years are her three daughters, Migdalia (Dolly) Rodriguez and her husband Edwin, Sonia Torres, Edna Escalona and her husband Manuel, 3 granddaughters Jessica & Cristina Rodriguez and Laura Trumbull and her husband Jon. In addition, she leaves her sisters, Miriam Torres, Luz Vasquez and Hilda Perez and many nieces and nephews that she deeply cared for. She was predeceased by her siblings, Fernando Padua, Carlos Padua, Carmen Otano, and Yolanda Aviles.
A special thanks to all family and friends for their support and to JoAnna Casaigne, her care giver, who became like a family member.
